Shone Puipia: dawn chorus, dusk calls
soi sa:m space, Bangkok
August 4 - October 6,2018
I directed this film installation for Dawn Chorus, Dusk Calls, an exhibition featuring Shone Puipia's collection. The film follows the journey of a bird flying through shifting landscapes from day to night, symbolizing transformation through light and atmosphere. This journey is mirrored by a model walking through evolving environments that reflect the subtle transitions of time and space.
Accompanied by Emily Dickinson’s poem “Hope” is the thing with feathers, the piece invites viewers to observe the delicate and often overlooked changes in light, mood, and sensation throughout the day. By embodying the restless flight of the bird—moving seamlessly between different atmospheres—the film offers a poetic meditation on the passage of time.
