One Thousand Dreams at a Time

‘Too Cute to be Tamed’ group exhibition,
As part of Intersections Art Summit, Bangkok
February 7-9, 2025

This series began when I encountered drawings I made as a child—images that reactivated memories with no other visible record. Unlike photographs, school records, or family archives, these drawings exist outside institutional forms of childhood documentation.

They also reveal how early imagination is shaped by external forces. The hyper-feminine worlds I repeatedly drew—fairy tales, princesses, and fantastical creatures—reflect visual ideals absorbed through media and storytelling. Returning to these drawings, I layer pencil and charcoal over them, bringing past images into contact with present memory.

Through layering and erasure, I examine childhood memory as a site where personal experience intersects with systems of representation.
